Project description:
During the communist era women were required to have a lot of children and let hem grow up and receive training in state-run facilities. When the system collapsed in 19900, many of these facilities were forced to close.
There are still many children's homes in Romania, despite EU membership. However, most of them are hopelessly overcrowded and are run down: old and damp buildings with outmoded sanitary facilities, broken heating systems etc.
There is also a lack of well qualified personnel and teaching staff.
LIFE FOR ALL has been funding a private children's home in Domnesti since 1993. The children grow up in a good environment here. Many of them go on to vocational training in Bucharest; some of them even study at the university.
LIFE FOR ALL is improving children’s living conditions in other homes by giving them new clothing, toys and bedding. LIFE FOR ALL is providing new beds with mattresses and renovates electrical and sanitary faculties.
