Project description:
In 1998 we launched the first medical project in Sakraili, India. With the generous help of our donors we were able to establish a small pharmacy as well as a small medical examination centre. Every day 160-170 people sought our help. However, the methods of treatment were very limited owing to our meagre financial resources. Patients were mainly treated with natural medicines.
Larger donations finally enabled us to expand our hospital. It now also has an operating theatre, an examination room, a nurses’ room as well as wards that can admit up to 20 people. We are now able to treat patients with all types of medicines. The hospital was inaugurated in autumn 2007. A diagnosis centre with ultrasound, pathology (symptoms / pathogenesis) and research has been built.
In 2005 LIFE FOR ALL purchased land in Sakraili in order to build an orphanage. As Sakraili is situated in the poorest state in the whole of India, the construction work on the building progressed very slowly. We were finally able to inaugurate our orphanage in September 2007. It consists of 2 dormitories, bathroom/toilets, kitchen, common room and staff accommodation.
Today 14 children have a loving home, care, medical treatment and the opportunity to attend the school nearby that was also built by LIFE FOR ALL. Children can subsequently attend a training course.
