Education is defined as “giving intellectual, moral and social instruction to someone”. For our purposes, it also entails the socialisation, personality development and training of the individual. Another aim of education is to establish desirable behaviour patterns, values and standards in an appropriate and purposeful manner as well as to teach self-reliance and self-determination. It facilitates relations with other individuals and should not be confused with training. Education ultimately serves to equip individuals as well as possible for life.

Education
The integration of national cultures and customs is an important part of our “education”. European approaches tend to act as a disincentive for a child or even an adult in an Asian country though. We therefore attach the utmost importance to working together with the indigenous people and local residents.
We supervise and manage all our children's homes and schools, but teaching and supervisory posts are predominantly occupied by nationals. This is the secret of the success of our “education”.
In our children’s homes we attach great importance to looking after small groups of houses only. This promotes a close family atmosphere and encourages individual development. Our schools and training centres, which are mainly attended by adolescent girls and adult women, place particular emphasis on education in addition to training. A lot of our women, irrespective of their age, also benefit from receiving a basic education along the way.
